CD 5.9.7 SMTP/Mail Does Not Work I am using Crystal Reports 9 on Windows XP SP2. We have an Exchange mail server.
I installed CD 5.9.7 from the "Crystal Delivery.msi" file and then installed "CrystalDeliveryUpdate.exe". I am very impressed with the usability and flexibility of this application.
I have successfully scheduled and exported reports in .pdf format; however I am unable to email reports. When I click on the SMTP button and enter our mail server name or IP address, and then click the Find Server button, I get an error message, "Unable to Locate Server".

If you are using "Find Server", you do not need to enter the sever name. But, I am guessing that since you got the message "Unable to Locate Server", this will not help.
That being said, if you know the server is correct, just enter the name and don't press "Find Server". CD will attempt to email the report with the server you enter.

CD 5.9.7 SMTP/Mail Does Not Work That worked! Thanks for the quick reply. I entered our mail server address in the SMTP "Mail Server Settings" box and closed the SMTP dialog, then set up the "Email To" address in the export section. The report exported and emailed as scheduled. Thanks again.

Kevin,
FWIW, you might want to see if you can somehow clarify what "Find Server" does in that dialogue. I had someone here last week trying out CD for the first time and he had the same problem. He had tried entering the mail server address, but then he would click on "Find Server" and get the "unable to locate" message. I guess (and this is just a guess) that he was thinking that it was like a test button or something (ie. you enter the address and then click the button to test it). Once I had him enter the address and not click the button, he was fine.
It hadn't occurred to me to mention it here until I saw this message. I know what "find server" does because I've been using CD since before you added that option (I think) and read about it here after you added it, but I can see how new users could get confused.
Just a thought.
