CD 8 Subreport Problem
Hi I have a report which asks for two date parameters (StartDate and EndDate). The report contains a subreport and these two dates are passed to the subreport parameters StartDate2 and EndDate2. However when I export the report from CD8, I get the following error message (obtained from the command prompt): Unhandled Exception: System.InvalidCastException: Unable to cast object of type 'CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.TextObject' to type 'CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.SubreportObject'. at CrystalCMD.Module1.SetReportParameters(String[] strParamArgs) at CrystalCMD.Module1.Main(String[] sArgs) This report worked fine in CD7, but I have had to upgrade because of problems with other reports in CD7 which have been fixed in CD8. Can anyone please help?

Just a small update. This is affecting all our reports which contain a report, not just the one mentioned. All of these reports worked previously in CD7. Just as an aside, as a temporary fix, is it possible to run CD7 and CD8 concurrently on the same machine (installing each version in a different folder)?

I am having a similar problem - all my reports that contain subreports do not export on v8.0.0.1. I can view the report fine and the email notification works, but I cannot export the report in any fashion. Is anyone using a report containing a subreport with CD v8.0.0.1 without receiving any errors?

I am running v6 and v8 of CD on the same device without any untoward effects.

It won't let me install version 7 alongside version 8. The installer says that another version is already installed on the machine and installation cannot continue. Is there anyway to override this? Thanks

I'm having the same issue with subreports in 8.0.1. If I delete the subreport it works fine.

Another issue with Sub-reports
I have a Crystal report which shows the Backup-Exec (TM) status of 15 different servers worldwide. Backup-Exec uses a MS SQL database to store it's results. The Crystal Report has 15 subreports, each with a different ODBC data source. When run in Crystal or Business Objects, it works fine. When VIEWED in CD8, it uses the LAST data-source in the report for all the sub-reports. SO one countries backup shows up 15 times but with a different country name (Hard Coded in each sub-report) for each instance. So I know that each sub-report is running, but has had it's data source changed.
