Optional Parameters
In the 5.7 version, the viewer would allow you to NOT enter values for parameters. This is no longer the case for 5.9. This was important, for instance, where CD does not allow for entry of ranges. For reports where date ranges are used, we have added date start and date end parameters for automated reports, but allowed users to keep their familiar date range entry for manual runs. The problem is that there are some reports that have multiple subreports, each of which have range entries which are set programatically in the report - but CD sees them as separate parameters to be set. Non-range parameters in subreports can be set in CD to 'null' or '1/1/1970', etc... even if this is a pain - but range parameters cannot. So... o Would it be possible to change the option for 'prompt for missing parameters when exporting' to be more granular - ie, per parameter? Thanks again! --Jason

I checked version 5.9 with a simple report and you still have the option to not enter parameters. I will consider make the resolution on a per parameter basis in a future release, but it will probably have to wait on the .Net version since doing so is a fairly large code change.

The function of that form may have changed when I updgraded to Crystal Reports XI from v10 as it is supplied by Crystal Reports. You can still view the reports without supplying all the parameters if you uncheck option to 'Prompt for missing parameters when exporting' in Crystal Delivery.
