Windows Security Update - May 13th 2008
Crystal Delivery 7.0.6.8 hasn't worked properly since the last windows update. There were 41 security patches applied. I was wondering if anyone else has come across this issue? Thanks in advance for your comments. Mark

Try installing 7.0.7.0. I'm using that, but having said that I have no idea if I've got the latest patch installed!

I updated to the newest version 7.0.7.0 and it work OK the first night, but the same exact issue came up last night. Crystal Delivery would kick off the first report without a problem but didn't loop through the other scheduled reports. Has anyone else experience this with CD?

It might be that your window of exporting for your reports are only a minute or so. I find that i have to set an export timeframe of an hour or so, then reset the last start date once every month. The reason for this is that crystal delivery will only fire if the last time it executed is more than the time frame. eg if set for each day at 1-2pm to run, then the last time it ran has to be before 2pm or it will NOT run as expected. so when you manually run them, you have to also change the last run time to before the scheduled time or the next day won't run correctly. i know this is a confusing post, but the example is solid.

This isn't the case since I'm well aware to set back the clock on the report so it can fire off the same day but later in the evening. It seems that I'm having the same problem as this post - http://kgroff.greatboard.com/viewtopic.php?t=743. Since I upgraded to the newest version of CD, I was wondering if there is an older version which works in AUTO mode until this issue gets resolved? I did get this error in the process log: 5/27/2008 9:29:57 AM Messasge: Conversion from string "" to type 'Double' is not valid. Source: Microsoft.VisualBasic Stack Trace: at Microsoft.VisualBasic.CompilerServices.Conversions.ToDouble(String Value, NumberFormatInfo NumberFormat) at Microsoft.VisualBasic.CompilerServices.Conversions.ToDouble(String Value) at CrystalDelivery.frmMain.CheckExports(DateTime datCurrentDate) Target Site: Double ToDouble(System.String, System.Globalization.NumberFormatInfo) Thank you.

Do you believe this double to string error is because of the windows security and/or version of CD? I scheduled 20 reports to run over the weekend.... 13 are fine but 7 give lots of errors. Incidentally they run fine in manual mode.

6 of the 14 reports did run auto mode last night but for the life of me can't understand why the other 8 didn't kick off. I know another forum post references the auto mode issue. Can any one guide me in the right direction? Thanks in advance. Mark

Can any one guide me in the right direction? Thanks in advance. Mark I found that setting the last export time to some time a few months in the past seems to help somewhat. EDIT Also, stagger the export times for your reports. I had some reports not working, I staggered them and that seemed to do the trick. So, in summary doing the above helped. Not sure which is the important one, but who cares. It seems to work.

Ok well I have the same condition as yesterday. 6 of the 14 reports kicked off and CD stalls on the seventh report. I staggered the times so there is a 10 minute gap between reports. There is nothing in the PC's application log which gives me any indicator why CD is hanging on the seventh report either. I'm able to run the reports manually without a hiccup. The only difference I see is that the export Export Interval states "Every Days" whereas the rest are coded as "Every Day". Once again thank you in advance to any feedback that will help resolve this issue. Mark

Looks like you aren't telling it what frequency it needs to do the export. PS. Dont worry about the tmp files.. i removed that comment from the above post.

Since making the change as suggested, all is well with CD! Thanks to all who responded 8)
